Brett Wahlin

Brett Wahlin is the CISO, Amazon Prime Video at Amazon.

Prior to Amazon, Wahlin was the CSO of Green Dot Corporation. Before that, he was the VP and CISO at HP. At HP, he was responsible for building world-class, extensible security capabilities that protect HP’s assets and workforce, enable and extend business capabilities, and showcase HP’s security solutions at work. Wahlin was also charged with guidance and expansion of security methodologies across the HP separation, the largest such event in the history of business. All aspects of information security – operations and cyber defense; customer engagement and solutions; cyber assurance; product security; governance, risk and compliance; identity and access management; identity and access management; and, security transformation and training – fell under his purview. As a security industry veteran, Wahlin brought to HP nearly 30 years of experience leading large enterprise information security architecture, policy, operations, and development.

Before HP, Wahlin served as CSO for Sony Network Entertainment International, where he established a comprehensive post-breach information, product and physical security function. Prior to Sony, he was CSO at McAfee where he headed all aspects of information and physical security, as well as McAfee on McAfee, a test bed for McAfee’s security solutions.

Earlier in his career, Wahlin was the CISO of Los Alamos National Laboratory, VP of Security Architecture for Wells Fargo, and he held various positions in security with Intel. He started as a security professional in the US Army, specializing in the areas of linguistics and counterintelligence. 

Wahlin holds three degrees from Arizona State University: M.B.A., B.A. in Russian Language, and B.S. in Criminal Justice.
