John Romano is an accomplished senior executive with experience spanning technology services, IT, digitization, software engineering, design, delivery, wireless, networks and property infrastructure.
Mr. Romano is currently Executive & CTO, Digital and Network Transformation of Infosys where he serves large clients with their customer digital, cloud, transformation and technology strategies, across USA and Latin America.
Prior to Infosys, he served on the Board of 460 Degrees as Digital and Technology Advisor while also consulting with organizations in the US, Asia and Australia on digital transformation, IT services and network technology strategies. Mr. Romano was also Chief Product Officer and Consulting Advisor of Saisei Networks, leading the development and implementation of its product and network operational strategy.
Before joining Saisei Networks, he worked with Telstra for 30 years in a variety of technology and executive management roles including CTO, CIO and CDO positions. These included engineering and operational roles in telecommunications, networks, wireless, IT, property, construction and energy. As the Group CIO of Telstra, John was accountable for all aspects of IT, including cloud and software engineering/operations, while leading the transformation to agile ways of working. In addition to being CIO, John was also responsible for the leadership of Telstra’s digitisation program, delivering transformational change for Telstra and redefining the experience of its customers. He previously led the Property division, where he was managed the Telstra owned and leased property portfolio, including energy management, leasing construction and maintenance.
Mr. Romano has held other senior leadership, CTO, and executive roles involving the acquisition, design, construction, and field maintenance of national wireless networks. Some key achievements include the major rollouts of Telstra’s & CSL’s Hong Kong 3G and 4G wireless networks.
John Romano holds an M.B.A. with an Entrepreneurial and International Management specialization as well as professional qualifications in Engineering, Business and Computing. He speaks Italian, studies Mandarin and has lectured in public speaking.
