Laura Miller is a transformational leader with a passion for defining and executing digital strategies to increase revenues, operational efficiencies and customer and employee engagement. Ms. Miller is distinguished by her inspirational leadership and trusted relationships that enable her to drive continuous business improvements.

As CIO of Macy’s, Ms. Miller’s responsibilities include technology strategy, delivery, operations and security for all of the Macy’s brands in over 600 locations. Her role is to apply technology solutions to help Macy’s achieve its goal of becoming a digitally led omnichannel retailer. Previously, as Global CIO of IHG, Ms. Miller held similar technology responsibilities for more than 5,900 hotels in over 100 countries, where she helped to increase the number of hotel rooms in the franchise by 18%, increased digital revenue by 24% and overall revenue by 23%, launched two new brands, added six new brands to the portfolio and integrated several new major partners. A portion of the digital revenue increases were due to the expansion of digital technology in China including the launch of IHG.cn with WeChatPay and AliPay and the launch of the IHG WeChat mini-program. She has delivered several organization-wide transformational changes including the implementation of a new central reservation system that delivers increases in revenue and lowers operational costs.  Ms. Miller’s focus on product innovation was also evident in her ideation of IHG’s new hotel operator platform (IHG Concerto®), that integrated workflow and data to improve overall guest service and hotel operations.  

Laura also provides strategic guidance and governance as a member of the board of EVO Payments (EVOP), a global merchant acquirer and payment processor.

Ms. Miller’s background includes extensive multi-industry experience in both the public and private sector. While SVP at First Data Corporation (FDC), a highly regulated global payments processing leader that serves more than six million merchant locations, thousands of card issuers and millions of consumers, Ms. Miller navigated an extremely complex private equity ownership (KKR) environment, where she led several transformational initiatives to rearchitect the global business model to deliver operational and financial improvements. She worked with the international leadership teams to develop and implement strategies to address the global financial crisis.  At TD Ameritrade, she was a key member of the technology M&A team where she led several aspects of the seven M&A integrations during her tenure.  In addition, Ms. Miller has served in other senior leadership capacities at The Patent and Trademark Office, The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County, Maryland, and British Aerospace, PLC.

Laura Miller holds an M.Sc. in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland.  She has earned significant recognition throughout her career, most recently as the Super Global Georgia CIO of the Year awarded by ORBIE. When not serving in her corporate capacity, Ms. Miller works with her husband in their residential remodeling and property management business, which they have owned and operated for more than 20 years.
