Michael Saffitz is the Engineering Manager for Stripe’s Reporting & Analytics group, which builds products to help customers understand, optimize, reconcile, and report on the performance of their businesses.
Prior to Stripe, Saffitz co-founded and served as the CTO of Apptentive, a Seattle-based startup focused on helping large organizations use their mobile apps to listen to their customers, derive insights, and take action. He built the Product Engineering team, growing it to include mobile, front-end, and platform engineers, DevOps, QA, data science, product management, and product design. Apptentive’s SDKs have been installed over 1 billion times and Apptentive has powered hundreds of millions of conversations, generating millions of pieces of feedback for customers including Starbucks, eBay, Disney, CNN, Philips, and many more. Apptentive has received $17.5m in funding, participated in TechStars, and is the recipient of multiple awards including Seattle Business Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. Saffitz presently serves as an advisor and board member for Apptentive.
Before co-founding Apptentive, Saffitz was a Program Manager at Microsoft, where he was responsible for the Windows Phone developer experience. In this role, he oversaw the Windows Phone developer tooling, SDKs, and application compatibility as well as evangelism and engagement across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Saffitz holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematical Economics from Pomona College, and an M.B.A. with Honors from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
