Robert Schmeider is the Head of Technology Disaster Recovery Management/Infrastructure Architecture at Wells Fargo.
Schmeider is the former CTO of Société Générale (SG), one of the largest financial services firms in the euro-zone. In this role he was responsible for the infrastructure services delivery in North and South America for a number of the SG group entities, with a major focus on the corporate and investment banking division. After joining Société Générale in 2000, Schmeider held a number of infrastructure management positions, taking on the CTO role in 2007. His major focus has been on providing service quality through automation, process improvement and a balanced outsourcing and offshoring strategy.
Schmeider has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services technology sector and prior to Société Générale, he worked in the technology divisions of JP Morgan and Barclays Capital. He began his career in the natural gas industry and the utilization of technology to automate a number of automated mapping and facilities management systems.
He holds a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from the Cooper Union and an Executive M.B.A. from St. John’s University.
